WoW Classic Season Of Mastery's Raid Bosses Are Still Too Easy
When World of Warcraft Classic first launched in 2019, players completed the game's first raid on day one. That set the tone for the entire game going forward, as players with decades of game knowledge and a min-maxing attitude made short work of nearly every challenge the original version of Blizzard's MMORPG could throw at them.To get more news about buy world warcraft items, you can visit lootwowgold official website.
Blizzard is looking to change that in World of Warcraft Classic's upcoming Season of Mastery, which is all about bringing a little more challenge to Azeroth, complete with fresh servers, a faster content rollout schedule, and more difficult raid encounters. Unfortunately, Blizzard is going to need to make bosses much more difficult if they want to pose any kind of threat to the game's most dedicated players.
A recent beta test for Season of Mastery let players go toe-to-toe with enhanced versions of bosses from the game's first two raids, Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair. Despite all the bosses receiving a flat 100% health buff and many bosses receiving additional mechanics that had been patched out of the game originally, players still made short work of their opponents. But that wasn't exactly unexpected, with Blizzard writing in an official forum post that the team suspected the total impact of changes would "likely not be meaningfully felt" by longtime players of the game.
"As we watched Beta testers in-game and listened to the reactions to our changes and restorations, it confirmed what we already thought going into this test--merely raising mob health and restoring a few removed mechanics was not hitting the mark we wanted for a season focused on faster progression and "more challenging" content," Blizzard writes.
For the next test, Blizzard says it will be making "significant adjustments" to Molten Core and Onyxia's Lair, but that the goal is not to make the fights so challenging that experienced and prepared raid groups will be struggling to make progress.
"We also don't intend to change the fights so much that they become completely unrecognizable or fundamentally different from their Classic versions," Blizzard writes. "Our intent is to provide something subtle and fresh to go along with the Season of Mastery that feels very much in keeping with the spirit of the original encounters."
No release date for WoW Classic Season of Mastery has been set. The announcement of WoW Classic seasons came amidst fallout from multiple lawsuits and investigations regarding an alleged long history of sexual harassment and discrimination at Activision Blizzard. Next year's BlizzCon event, where major announcements for the studio's games usually happen, was recently canceled. Blizzard says it will be taking the extra time to reimagine the event's future, but that announcements about upcoming games and updates will still be coming in the months ahead.
