We encourage you to bookmark this page and return often.  For cannabis products, this guide provides guidance and information on the cosmetic box and labeling requirements established by the Cannabis Act (also referred to as the Act in this guide and abbreviated to CA for references) and the Cannabis Regulations (also referred to as the Regulations in this guide and abbreviated to CR for references).

The Cannabis Regulations establishes requirements for how cannabis and cannabis products must be packaged and labeled prior to being sold, distributed, or exported in accordance with the law. To be more specific, the Regulations require all cannabis products to be packaged and labeled in a plain cosmetic box with no logos, colors, or branding. Product information (e. g., brand name of the cannabis product, class of cannabis, delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) information, licence holder information) must be included on the label of all cannabis products packaged in a child-resistant container and labeled with the standardized cannabis symbol and the mandatory health warning message. foldable box packaging is the goal of these measures to reduce the risks of accidental consumption and overconsumption, as well as the appeal of cannabis products to children and young people, while also providing consumers with the information they need to make informed decisions before using marijuana.

Packages and labels for cannabis products are not reviewed or approved by Health Canada before they are distributed.
